Man, oh man! Let me tell you...when it starts to snow in the South, I head...well, South! LOL! Friday morning brought the dreaded white stuff to Dothan, Alabama, and I hit the road for sunny (well, somewhat sunny) Florida!! My sister and I took a quick road trip to central Florida to visit Grandma and get away from the cold...my bones were not meant for cold weather!
Along the way, we made a (very necessary I might add) stop in Trenton, Florida to visit with Ms. Lynn of Lynn's Country Cross Stitch Shop. What a wonderful needleworker's paradise! Located in an old dry goods store, Lynn has managed to amass an extraordinary assortment of patterns, threads, and gadgets to fill all your stitchy fantasies. And the walls are filled to overflowing with gorgeous models, many of them for sale! Now, stay with me for a minute here...not only is it a needlework shop, but there are four other shops to peruse as well...yep, you heard me right! You can choose from a quaint quilt shop, a fantastic frame shop, a sumptuous stained glass shop and an antebellum antique shop (okay, that was a bit over the top, but you get my point). Of course all that shopping builds up quite the appetite, so you can head over to the little cafe a block away and enjoy some delicious vittles! Lynn is a wonderfully sweet and extremely helpful owner/stitcher, and it was a joy to visit with her. So, all that being said...if you are ever in the area, be sure to drop in and enjoy the goodies!
Guess this is where the stash comes in...I tried to be a good girl, but darn, it sure was hard with all that wonderful "stuff" to choose from...so, here it is...
The second snap is of some delicious fabric I had to have...28ct Lugana in "Little Bo Pink" and 32ct Linen in "Cream". I love the blush pink color and I may use it for Enchanted Alphabet; the cream is going to end up coffee or tea dyed...or I may try some new way to antique it up!!
The last snap is a sweet little Longaberger basket that just screamed to go home with me and join the rest of the girls! LOL! Don't know a thing about it (name, special), but I love it! No idea what I will use it for at the moment...something will reveal itself when the time is right.
I have been steadily working on the original design stitching, but want to save the snaps for when it is finished!
To answer a few craft room questions:
Jackie: That would be my over-dyed threads hanging inside the closet. I have not yet figured out a perfect storage solution for them, so that's where I settled on for now.
April Michelle: What a sweet thing to say...and sure, I'll hop right on over and get started organizing your closet...just as soon as I finish my other four closets, three night stands, two dressers, and one overflowing box of photos! LOL!
And thank you for all the wonderfully nice comments...it does a heart good!
So, that's it in a nutshell...don't forget to enter for the Giveaway by midnight 19 February! Until later...
HAPPY STITCHIN'
Terri

I was in Trenton in December. We had lunch and shopped and had a great time! It's amazing to find such nice shops in such a little town. Next time you come down this way, let me know! Trenton is just 1.5 hours from here!
You're fleeing the snow! I'd love to chase some down.
Great new stash! How fun that you can escape the cold so easily!
